Thousands of Citizens in Jakarta Have Not Received e-ID Card

The delay in the issuance of identity card (KTP) and electronic ID card (e-KTP), is complained by many Jakarta residents. They expect its issuance can be accelerated, because they already through data recording a few years ago.

As experienced by Rizal (25), a resident of RW 03, Dukuh Urban Village, admitted he has not received e-ID card almost three years, whereas he had done recording data in 2011.

"I rush to do data recording. If not, there will be fines. Based on the information, the process only takes 3 months but I have not received it nearly 3 years," he regretted, Saturday (6/28).

No Internet Service, Dukcapil Services Disturbed

Head of Dukuh Urban Village, Agus Nosoripada Harahap admitted as many as thousands of residents have not received e-ID card. They are from 66 RTs and 6 RWs.

"If there is conflict in Home Ministry, I hope it can be solved soon. Don't make our residents restless due to they have not received e-ID Card," he stated.

To facilitate administration proceedings, East Jakarta Population and Civil Servant Sub-Department also held a jemput bola service (officers to take the initiative to visit residents). The service opened at 8 AM was welcomed enthusiastically by locals. Until 11 AM, 11 regular ID cards, 3 birth certificates have been issued.

Meanwhile, Head of Registration Section for East Jakarta Population and Civil Servant Sub-Department, Thabrani expressed jemput bola service is aimed to simplify people to process civil documents.

"We hold the service routinely, in order to facilitate locals who cannot process civil documents to urban village due to busy," he uttered.
